Additional registration information
Litter Registration Form (One per Litter):
Puppy Registration Forms (One for EACH puppy):
- The litter registration form asks you what quality, based on our breed standard, the puppy is. This is not what you're going to sell the puppy as, just what quality the puppy is. If it has a correct scissor bite, full pigment, no hernia, both testicles descended, no KB mutation, it would be a potentially breedable puppy. If it has any of the faults listed above or any other structural fault, it would be a pet quality puppy. After inputting the data, please review the information on the document before signing and submitting it. This will help the club send out the registration certificates more quickly.
- Verify the full name of both the Dam and the Sire.
- Example: Submitted name of sire: Jasper of Cedarwood
- Correct name of sire: Cedarwood’s Precious Jasper
Puppy Registration Forms (One for EACH puppy):
- This form asks you to detail the puppy's features. It includes the information from the litter registration form plus additional information that is unique to each puppy, such as tail set, eye color, does it have a hernia and if it's a tall puppy. Usually if a puppy measures 9" tall at 9 weeks of age, it's going to be a tall Coton. If a puppy has the KB mutation, that is a fault that would disqualify a puppy from being sold as PB to one of our breeders.
- If a puppy is pet quality you must add a comment defining the "fault" that disqualifies it from being potentially breedable. This puppy would show a classification of Companion Pet Only on their Registration Pedigree.
- If the puppy is a potentially breedable (PB) puppy, the next question is whether you want the owner to have breeding rights or not. If you answer NO, the Registration Pedigree will state Companion Pet Only on it. If you answer YES, the Registration Pedigree will state Potentially Breedable. The reason we ask for more detail about individual puppies is to track what we are producing.
